Owner managed businesses make huge contributions to the communities we live, work and play in, and everyday I am excited to work with small businesses to creatively problem solve through the issues they are facing. By melding accounting and technology there is a significant opportunity to create efficient business processes and have high-quality data that is accurate, reliable and timely so that business owners have the information needed to make sound business decisions.
Business and technology have been a passion of mine for as long as I remember. My interest in business started when working in my dad’s plumbing and heating shop. This morphed into studying companies through investing and then pursuing an education and a career in accounting since, as Warren Buffet puts it, “accounting is the language of business”. My technology journey began while working in a computer shop as a support tech. From there I enjoyed using a Raspberry Pi computer to automate tasks and build systems. Throughout university I enjoyed helping others optimize their technology while working for the IT support team.
I completed both my Bachelor of Business Administration (Honours) and a Computing Science minor at Trinity Western University. After this, I went on to complete the CPA program while working for a mid-sized accounting firm in the Fraser Valley.
My wife and I embark on many adventures including hiking, skiing, snowmobiling, and paddle boarding to name a few.
